Spring Pretties

Not much going on around here yet. I have not been able to get out to work due to the unceasing rain. These bulbs came up nicely, though. They are a bright little patch of color in a gray world. I did notice that the trees are turning a fragile green with leaf buds opening.

Muscari Morning

The muscari, daffodil and tulip bulbs that I planted in pots on the porch and in a flower bed in February are coming up. I was worried that my procrastination in getting them planted had confused them for the season, but they are waking up beautifully!

The robins have taken to the street!

We received a rare six inch snowstorm here in Mississippi last night. Our robins and other birds just don't know how to play around in the snow to find their food so they have taken to the only spot not buried in snow- the street. That is a poor quality picture but it was as close as I could get and not scare them away.

Of course when their bird feeder looks like this....

What else are they supposed to do? I fished the bowl to the feeder out of the snow, refilled it and refilled the other hanging birdfeeders. I made a makeshift feeding station in the backyard close by several bird perches to give them an additional feeding option. Poor birds!
